Excerpts from a great article in Well + Good by Tehrene Firman...make my case! 
"When it comes to exercise equipment, I’m fully aware that ankle weights might not be the sexiest option available. There are people hanging upside-down on Pilates Cadillacs, for goodness sake. But in terms of effectiveness? Let’s just say there’s a reason why they’ve been a fitness staple since the ’80s—and why celebs like Selena Gomez are proudly rocking them on Instagram all these years later. When we set out to create Wearable Weights they had to be SEXY- so Jen and I accomplished that with our design patent- they are lean and mean like the workouts we love!  Fashion, Function and Form.  According to Tehrene- the world’s top trainers started utilizing them again to sculpt long, lean, and toned bodies. Heck, even Kate Hudson and Jenna Dewan use them on a regular basis. And during her first class at New York City’s modelFIT—a company that’s known for utilizing them as part of its technique—she quickly learned just how good of a burn they provide.

"After an hour of doing seemingly innocent small movements with them my world was totally rocked—and not just because I was so sore I could hardly sit at my desk the next day. The trainers used these weights to make your body work in ways you didn’t even know were possible, engaging even the tiniest muscles for a more defined look overall.  After only three or so months of 20-minute sessions a day, I caught a very unexpected glimpse of a much-perkier and less-dimpled behind in the mirror and shockingly realized it was mine. Love that excerpt because that is what WEARABLE WEIGHTS deliver- you get to that isometric burn a hell of a lot faster- meaning you don't have to do a 100 reps- maybe 99! All kidding aside you can accomplish more in less time- whatever your workout get there faster and feel more!

Tehrene said that "through all those movements also came some serious core definition in the notoriously hard-to-tone obliques—something I’ve never seen much change in, no matter how many bicycle crunches I did. According to modelFIT’s head trainer Javi Perez (AKA my butt’s knight in shining armor!), there’s a simple explanation for that—and the multitude of other full-body changes."
Perez says having that added weight might not seem like it’s doing a ton, but it’s kind of serving as the missing puzzle piece that allows you to get the most out of every movement. 
I tell my clients WEARABLE WEIGHTS work because they give you body awareness. Because they’re placed ergonomically over the leg they immediately make you aware of the entire length of it.  For instance, a bent leg extended from the hip at 90 degrees will feel more obvious and deliberate with Wearable Weights on it as opposed to without it.  In addition, the way they are designed they still allow you to move with the nuanced technique and form that mind/body workouts demand- barre, pilates, Megaformer, yoga, TRX and pilates reformer.

Because of that, your workouts go from feeling too easy or disconnected without Wearable Weights to very intentional.  I always tell my clients they don't allow you to cheat or fake the movements. Ironically, latest social messages have been revolving around "don't Fake it till you make it" with scorn.  Andrea Rogers creator of Xtend Barre hates the expression and she got the message from Lewis Howes and coincidentally the same week I viewed Gary Vay-Ner-Chuck better known as Garyvee saying how awful and damaging that narrative is - FAKE it till you MAKE it.  These successful entrepreneurs may have referenced business modeling but the same can apply to physical exercise.  Gary on his video talks about you can't fake doing a pushup- same thing with WEARABLE WEIGHTS they don't allow you to fake your movements. They help you find that lost connection, making you move more “efficiently, through space, with resistance,” according to Javi Perez.  Plus, because they remind you where the end of your limb is you’re better able to engage the right muscles during your movements. It’s something Jen and I immediately notice every time we put them on even as the creators.  Even basic movements like plies, chairs, leg lifts, running -I feel my muscles working just as much in my obliques as in my derriere as I’m raising and lowering my legs.

So while the small amount of added weight  (1.5 lbs on each limb) definitely helps tone your body on its own, the real magic of Wearable Weights is how they change your movement for the better. When you’re engaging the right muscles, you’ll see better results—according to Tehrene and me and that’s why Wearable Weights work so well.

All in all, it probably goes without saying that I’ll be cherishing my pair of Wearable Weights for eternity- the metal is for life with good TLC!  But I can change the sleeves every season with the latest fashion trends!  Hmm... zebra print is HOT!
